The parent company to S.W.O.R.D. Leather was founded in Italy over 100 years ago bythe current designers’ great grandfather. Now it is run by two Italian brothers, Matteo and Giacomo, who are the youngest members of a prestigious leather family legacy. The Zanellati family is famous in Italy for washing and dying techniques, have been in leather since the 1880's, and are the proud holders of over 100 patents. They have 5 factories
and have always produced leather goods for major Italian fashion houses along with Matteo and Giacomo's collection, S.W.O.R.D.

Matteo’s expertise is in finding vintage styles that are then adapted and modernized to echo current trends and tastes.Giacomo prefers to start with an idea of his ideal jacket and he then creates a new style aimed at young trendsetters looking for something completely new. They then collaborate mixing hints of vintage styling with entirely modern detailing.
